专利说明:
[001] The invention relates to a method for producing a component in accordance with the pre-characterizing clause of claim 1. [002] Components having a decorative element extending in two dimensions are known particularly in automobile construction. For example, DE 44 21 942 C2 discloses a component comprising an illuminable field, such as, for example, letters or symbols, and is provided as a protective door sill strip or bar for a vehicle. The planar decorative element is formed from a piece of wall comprising openings that have been produced by laser application, stamping or the like. A luminous film is applied to the back face of the wall piece. This intermediate piece has elevations that project into said openings. This intermediate piece is fixed to the wall piece, for example, by bonding with adhesive or screwing. [003] DE 20 2004 008 681 discloses a component that is provided for the edge of the floor plate of an automobile. An intermediate piece is likewise provided in this case, which has elevations which engage corresponding openings of the decorative element extending in two dimensions. A light source is also provided on the rear face of the decorative element. A decorative body comprising illuminable decorative elements has also been disclosed by EP 2 028 048 A1. [004] US 6,419,306 A discloses an illuminable sign for motor vehicles, which has a decorative element extending in two dimensions comprising through holes, a multilayer film and a light guide. In order to obtain an inspection face, the through holes are filled with clear plastic. [005] If the intention is to produce a component with letters, which comprises, for example, the letters A and B, these letters respectively contain at least an island-shaped part that needs to be correctly positioned. This is possible, for example, using props. Such braces, however, are often unwanted for aesthetic reasons. It is known to place these island-shaped parts on a vacuum injection molding tool. This, however, is comparatively complex. In addition, island-shaped parts need to be positioned in indentations of the injection molding tool, which can be made by a gripper or manually. It was also found that said island-shaped pieces do not always fit flush with the surface of the decorative element, extending in two dimensions on the component finally produced. [006] It is an objective of the present invention to provide a method of said type that allows a simpler production of such a component. [007] The objective is achieved by a method to produce a component comprising a decorative element extending in two dimensions, having at least one through hole, an inspection face, a rear face, whereby, before the at least one layer is applied, at least one film is applied to the rear face of the decorative element extending in two dimensions in at least one region of the at least one through hole, which film, when the at least one layer is applied, is pressed by the the latter in the region of the at least one through hole, in such a way that the film at least partially engages with the at least one through hole. [008] In the method according to the invention, the at least one through hole is filled at least partially, and preferably fully, by the film. If the piece is provided in an island shape, then this is fixed to the film before applying at least one layer. Another advantage is that the at least one island-shaped part is positioned particularly reliably by the film's engagement with the at least one through hole, and that external influences, for example changes in temperature and humidity, cannot affect the positioning I need the island-shaped part. This could be further improved by engaging the at least one layer on the film. Preferably, the film is flush with the inspection face. Since the decorative element is not directly molded afterwards, but rather it is the film that is molded, the molding time can be freely selected. This could also occur in the region of an island-shaped part, as this part is protected by the film and, in particular, displacements of the part due to molding pressure can be avoided. [009] It has been found that the method according to the invention has the particular advantage that the film which is penetrated into the at least one hole removes or cancels out sharp edges of the decorative element extending in two dimensions in the region of the at least one through hole. Intermediate spaces in the region of the at least one through hole can be avoided, so that contamination can be avoided even during prolonged use. Hence, the method according to this invention is also suitable for producing a component in which the decorative element extending in two dimensions does not comprise island-shaped pieces. [0010] In particular, the method is suitable for producing a component with which an illuminated field can be produced in the inner region or in the outer region of a motor vehicle. For example, but not exclusively, such a component is suitable for producing a door sill protective strip, a finishing strip, a control element, for example a button. [0011] According to a refinement of the invention, the film is adhesively bonded to the rear face of the decorative element extending in two dimensions. The adhesive bonding of the film can be carried out in a particularly simple and reliable way by means of a roller. An adhesion promoter may be applied to the film and/or the decorative element. [0012] The film is, in particular, a plastic film. It can be colorless, or white, or alternatively colored. Using colored plastic films, correspondingly dyed illuminable fields can be produced. Preferably, the at least one film is at least locally translucent. The film can be monolayer or multilayer. Preferably, the at least one film is at least locally translucent. An embodiment comprising a plurality of films, which may be the same or different, may also be considered. [0013] According to a refinement of the invention, the at least one layer is produced by injection molding or extrusion. In all these cases, a pressure is exerted on the film, whereby a region of the film is pressed into the at least one through hole and finally engages at least partially therein. The at least one layer in turn engages with the film. Finally, a very stable composite of at least three layers is obtained. Production by injection molding is preferred, as in this case there is essentially no restriction in terms of component shape, whereas components produced by extrusion should be essentially in the form of continuous sheets. Injection engraving, which is also a form of injection molding, is also possible. [0014] According to a refinement of the invention, the planar decorative element is produced from a metallic sheet. In principle, however, the decorative element extending in two dimensions could be produced, for example, in plastic. Plastic decorative embossing may be at least partially translucent. The decorative element can be a very thin and highly flexible film, as the decorative element is supported, for example, by the molded plastic element. The plastic layer may be provided with fastening parts, by which the component can be fastened. [0015] According to a refinement of the invention, the at least one island-shaped piece is fixed to a fastener by means of vacuum before the film is applied. After the film has been applied, the vacuum can be released and, for example, the decorative element extending in two dimensions with the film can be placed in the mold cavity of an injection molding tool. Hence, it is absolutely no longer necessary to attach the island-shaped part to the injection molding tool, or, alternatively, to the extruder. [0016] The component according to the invention, produced by the method, has at least three layers. The first layer is formed by the planar decorative element and the second layer of film is applied to the rear face of this decorative element. The film engages within the through holes in the region thereof, and therefrom fills these through holes at least partially. From the inspection face of this component, the film is preferably flush with this inspection face in the region of the through holes. This inspection face is a flat or alternatively non-planar surface, eg curved, with island-shaped parts optionally being provided. Outside the at least one through hole, elevations or indentations could of course also be considered. Such a component may have a comparatively small thickness of a few millimeters. The molded layer is, in particular, a support layer provided with fixing pieces, while the decorative element may also be thin and flexible. In particular, it is possible to ensure that the island-shaped parts are level with the inspection face. [0017] If lighting is provided for the through holes, then, for example, a light guide, in which the light source is arranged, may be provided on the rear face of the component. The light source can be formed by one or more LEDs. Lighting merely with LEDs or an electroluminescent film is also possible. The component according to the invention is intended in particular for automobile construction, although applications in other fields may also be considered. For example, a lightable field for an item of furniture or an appliance, for example, refrigerators, food boilers, washing machines, ovens, stoves or dishwashers, could be produced with such a component. In order to achieve a maximally uniform illumination, it is advantageous that, according to a refinement of the invention, the film and/or the at least one layer are shaped as a diffuser. [0018] Other advantageous features can be found in the dependent patent claims, in the following description and in the drawings. [0019] Exemplary embodiments of the invention will be explained in more detail below with the help of the drawings, in which: [0020] Figure 1 schematically shows a three-dimensional view of a component according to the invention; [0021] Figure 2 shows a section through a portion of the decorative element extending in two dimensions; [0022] Figure 3 shows a section according to Figure 2, a film being applied on the rear face of the decorative element extending in two dimensions; [0023] Figure 4 shows a section through the component according to the invention taken in line IV-IV of figure 5; [0024] Figure 5 shows a view of a sub-region of the inspection face of a component according to the invention; and [0025] Figures 6 to 8 show partial sections through variants of the component according to the invention. [0026] Figure 1 shows a component 1 that has a flat or non-planar inspection face 2, over which a field 3 representing the letters A, B and C can be seen. These letters are in this case a mere example of such a field, which can be configured arbitrarily by itself. Field 3 may be illuminable. The means of illumination required here are not shown here, but are known per se to the person skilled in the art. [0027] The field 3 is formed by the through holes 6, shown in Figure 2, in a decorative element extending in two dimensions 4. These through holes 6 are produced, for example, by laser application or stamping. The decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 is, for example, a metallic sheet, for example of aluminium. However, in principle, the planar decoration element 4 could also be produced from a different material, for example plastic. Preferably, the decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 has a comparatively small thickness, for example one millimeter or less, preferably less than 0.5 millimeter. The decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 may be covered with a protective film, which is usually removed after installation. [0028] The decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 has a rear face 5, on the surface of which a film 8 is applied. This film 8 is preferably formed of a translucent or at least partially transparent plastic layer. The thickness of film 8, or layer, is preferably one millimeter or less than one millimeter, and preferably more than 0.05 millimeter. The thickness is preferably from 0.1 to 0.3 millimeters. Film 8 is produced, for example, from ABS, polycarbonate, or PMMA. Film 8 may be multilayer, for example in two layers. In particular, an upper layer measuring, for example, 5 µm is produced from PVDF [oly(vinylidene fluoride)] or PES (polyether sulfone) and a lower layer is produced from PMMA, the total film thickness being of , for example, 505 µm. The top layer could also be a mixture, in particular comprising PVDF and PMMA. The multilayer film could, for example, be produced by co-extrusion. The film may also be a single layer, consisting of PVDF or PES, or a mixture of PVDF and PMMA. A single layer, for example of PMMA, could be coated with a protective varnish. Such films are particularly resistant against aggressive environmental influences, for example against acids and cleaning agents. If the lower layer is of PMMA, then a particularly good bond with the backing layer 11 can be achieved when it is made of a similar material, or PMMA. [0029] Component 1 has an additional layer 11, which is formed of a thermoplastic that is molded onto a rear face 10 of film 8. In the region of through holes 6, film 4 is pressed by layer 11 over these through holes 6 Hence, the film 8 has, according to figure 4, regions 8' which are visible from the inspection side 2. [0030] These 8' regions are flush with inspection face 2. The 8' regions fill the through holes 6. In particular, by the 8' regions, edges 13 (figures 3 and 4) on the through holes 6 are covered by the regions 8'. Hence, the sharpness of these edges 13 is eliminated by regions 8' and, furthermore, no void through which parts or even liquids can enter is formed in these edges 13. However, film 8 may protrude from the inspection face, as shown in figure 6. Component 1' shown in figure 6 has a film 8' that fully fills through hole 6, and further protrudes through inspection face 2' and forms shoulders 14. Layer 11, as can be seen, engages with an equally ridged region 11a into the film 8' in the region of the through hole 6. [0031] Figure 7 shows a 7" component in which an 8" film is flush with a 2" inspection face, but does not fully fill the through hole 6 so that there is a space 15 between the 8" film and the element decorative 4. On the 1" component shown in figure 8, an 8" film engages the through hole 6, but is not flush with a 2" inspection face and also forms a space 15. [0032] Hence, the invention makes it possible to produce 1 to 1" components having substantially different 2 to 2" inspection faces. [0033] Layer 11, as film 8, is preferably translucent or transparent, in such a way that field 3 can be illuminated from the rear face 12. Layer 11 may have fastening means (not shown here) with the which component can be attached, for example, to a bodywork of a motor vehicle. [0034] In field 3, according to figures 1 to 5, there are island-shaped pieces 7 and 7’, respectively. According to figure 4, these pieces 7 and 7' are embedded in the film 8 and, from there, are fixed by the same. These island-shaped pieces 7 are preferably flush with inspection face 2. [0035] The preferred method for producing component 1 will be explained in more detail below. [0036] In a first step, the decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 is produced, for example, from a material in the form of a continuous sheet. Through holes are produced, for example, by laser application or stamping. The decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 is attached to a fastener (not shown here). Fixing is carried out, for example, by vacuum which is applied to inspection face 2. The island-shaped pieces 7 formed when producing the through holes 6 are likewise fixed by vacuum. [0037] In a second step, the film 8 is applied on the back face 5. The film 8 is preferably adhesively bonded to the back face 5. The film 8 and/or the decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 are in this case provided with an adhesive layer or adhesive parts (not shown here). Adhesive bonding or application of film 8 is preferably carried out here using a roller (not shown here). Once the film 8 has been applied on the decorative element 4, the decorative element 4 is then fixed by the film 8. [0038] The decorative element extending in two dimensions 4, provided with the film 8, is now placed in a mold cavity of an injection molding tool (not shown here). The injection molding tool can be configured in a conventional way. After the injection molding tool has been closed, layer 11 is produced by further molding the inserted part. By the pressure of injection molding, the film 8 is deformed in the region of the through holes 6 and penetrates into the through holes 6. Correspondingly, the layer 11 penetrates the film 8 in the region of the through holes 6, as can be seen in Figure 4. component 1 can then be removed from the mold. [0039] Layer 11 could alternatively be produced by co-extrusion. The decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 with the applied film 8 is in this case extracted through the extrusion nozzle, while the layer 11 is applied continuously. The decorative element extending in two dimensions 4 and the film 8 in this case form a continuous sheet. It is also possible to produce layer 11 by injection-etching, which is also an injection molding method.
